Kootenay-Columbia is a seat in the House of Commons that the NDP has held before with Wayne Stetski as our excellent Member of Parliament. We lost it narrowly in the last federal election, but we can win it back again next time around. Our Electoral District Association needs to find a new candidate because Wayne has indicated that he will run again only if there is an election called before we have found his replacement.
The search for that replacement starts now!
The Kootenay Columbia NDP EDA has set up a Search Committee to find our next representative in Ottawa. The National Party requires that we actively search for a candidate who is female or from an ‘equity seeking’ minority community.
This is an opportunity to raise up a voice from our region that sees the world from a different lens. Someone who shares our social democratic values and our concern about the climate emergency. If that person is you or someone you know, please contact us at 250-352-3507.
Dave Gregory, our current EDA Vice-President, has agreed to co-chair the search committee. We need a female co-chair and committee members from across the riding. This is your opportunity to contribute to putting together a coalition of progressive activists, leaders and voters. People who are passionate about solving Canada’s and BC’s current social, economic, and environmental problems.
Help us find an energetic female environmentalist to run for us in the next election. We need your help! Please call 250-352-3507 to join the campaign for a better MP for Kootenay-Columbia. The letter attached below can be circulated to your networks!
