As you might already know, our current federal riding, Kootenay-Columbia, will metamorphose into the new electoral district titled Columbia-Kootenay-Southern Rockies on April 22nd, 2024. The new riding will include Trail but will lose Revelstoke and Golden. 

It is almost certain that our new NDP candidate will be running for office as Member of Parliament for the new riding rather than the old one. Our Candidate Search Committee is actively seeking members or supporters seriously interesting in running for the NDP nomination in Columbia-Kootenay-Southern Rockies. The new EDA that will include Revelstoke, Golden and through to Kamloops will be forming in the coming months and potential candidates from those areas will be supported by this emerging group. 

The candidate search has been underway for over a year now, but has so far focused on alerting potential female and minority members to this opportunity. We are now opening the nomination process to all NDP members and supporters living in or very near the new electoral district, irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, or minority status.
